Burn Care Guide
Follow these tips and your Shorelines candle will burn cleaner, longer, and safer.
First Burn — The Golden Rule
On your first burn, let the candle stay lit until the melt pool reaches the edges of the tin (about 2–3 hours). This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.
Before Each Burn
- Trim the wick to 4mm (about ⅛ inch). A long wick means a bigger flame, more soot, and faster burn.
- Remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax.
During the Burn
- Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Keep away from draughts — they cause uneven burning and soot.
- Always burn on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
When to Stop
Discontinue use when 1cm of wax remains. Don't burn right to the bottom — the tin can get dangerously hot.
Storage
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fragrance.
